While conventional stroke rehabilitation approaches have been utilized, they often fail to fully address the unique needs and circumstances of individual patients. In contrast, personalized rehabilitation strategies hold great promise for enhancing patient outcomes, improving satisfaction, and reducing treatment costs by tailoring interventions to the specific requirements of each stroke survivor. This comprehensive review article provides an in-depth examination of the current state of personalized stroke rehabilitation in Hong Kong. It analyzes key aspects such as the development of individualized therapy plans, the utilization of multidisciplinary care teams, the integration of innovative technologies, and the active engagement of patients and their caregivers. By drawing upon the latest research evidence and insights from experienced professionals, the article summarizes best practices, identifies areas for further advancement, and proposes strategies for implementing more comprehensive, patient-centered models of stroke rehabilitation. The findings presented in this review have significant implications for improving stroke care not only in Hong Kong, but also in other densely populated urban centers facing similar challenges. |
