dc.description.abstractA gadolinium(III) complex of an 18-membered hexa-aza macrocycle, with relaxivities higher than [Gd(DTPA)(H<sub>2</sub>O)]<sub>2</sub>− and [Gd(DOTA)(H<sub>2</sub>O)]−, has been synthesized and its crystal structure indicates a nine-coordinate gadolinium ion bound to three water oxygen atoms and six nitrogen donors from the macrocyclic ligand.en_US
