An efficient channel selection scheme is necessary for any single or multiple radios mesh routers in order to exploit multiple channel operations in wireless mesh networks. Such a scheme, among other things should have fast switching and process coordination modules incorporated to its design framework so as to minimise interference and maximise throughput. This paper presents an enhancement to a design of a dynamic channel assignment algorithm for wireless mesh networks. Our design strategy is based on a reinterpretation of an adaptive priority technique (as an iterative algorithm) that recursively allocates a set of channels to radios in a fair and efficient manner. The algorithm proposed in our design solution is written with Haskell syntax. Such syntax may be implemented using any pure functional programming language. The algorithm we refer to as adaptive priority multi-radio channel assignment (APMCA) is tested for performance to assess the effectiveness by determining its overall running time complexity. We also carried out a simulation to compare our scheme to a similar proposal.en_US
